This client would like the tiles to have a polished look, what can be done if anything to help this poor old lady?

yea al that looks like it will be a easy floor just do yourself a favor and look at the side of the tile maybe from a air register it should look real close to the top on the side of the tile. that will tell you if it was factory backed. call me
