Hey Guys,

I'm sure this has been asked a million times, but I'll ask again anyway.

280 chairs like picture, with upholstered backs.

I'm thinking $3.35 per chair? Doable in one day with helper?

Thanks.

They were happy with the carpet I did there. No heat, my heater is on the fritz.

Just did 100 of these plus carpets and tile and grout on Monday.

We are around $10 per chair in our area typically for these but discounted down to $7.

But each area is different and also we know what we want or need for a price point. So if you are able to be profitable and hit your profit making price point, your price will be good

3 minutes a chair would be 20 in an hour
$3.25 x 20=$65.00

So that means clean faster or charge more.

2 minutes a chair
$3.25 ×30 =$97.50

1 minute a chair
$3.25 × 60 =$195.00

Love the logic.

30 seconds a chair
3.25 x 120 = $390.00

And if you continue that Kans-ass logic, it gets even better :winky:

I always love the perfect world scenarios... I'm stretching my back right now just thinking about cleaning that many... When we cleaned and dual upholstery wand a high school chairs, I'd love to have cleaned 60 each chairs an hour, or even 40 each and keep the pace up for 4-6 hours... Maybe I'm just lazy and burned out...... Don't get me wrong, I fully understand the logic and point of view.... It's just that the person moving the tool also has to account for Murphy.... At least I always do... I'd always quote longer time and if you finish earlier, more power to you...

I'd be closer to $5/chair...

It depends if you will be doing them outside with a truck mount or inside with a portable and no heat.
Last year we cleaned over 1600 chairs but only charged for 1400-- we negotiated that 200 were redo chairs and that we wouldn't charge the customer.
The fabric on the chairs in the photo you posted should be easier then the chairs we cleaned last year. About 25 years ago I cleaned same type chairs and fabric in your photo. I used a truck mount, while cleaning them in open garage and I used a swivel stair tool. I cut a lot of corners as didn't do most backs-- but at 50 cents a chair they didn't care. I could do Max 80 chairs an hour by myself..
We cleaned the chairs last year for $5 each and lost money. It took a combined 4 people to clean 80 chairs an hour max. We were using two portables and cleaned them inside.
When we were done, both portables, and 2 staff members needed repairs. We didn't get paid for about 4 months because the manager who hired us had been transferred... but the check arrived during a very slow time and was welcomed.

I'm $5/chair in my area for large numbered chairs. If there were just a few of them, I'd be charging $10/chair.

I'm thinking if you have a helper to pre spray and wipe down the overspray before you, it'll take maybe 1minute/chair to clean it when you get in the rhythm. So go on a high number of 360minutes to clean it
