tranny pump seal gave and let all my tranny fluid out!

the Vs at the tranny shop getting a rebuild for 2500 dollars. has anyone else had a rebuild? is this expensive? if so how much did it cost you and what warranty did they give you? i got a 3 year - 36000 mile warranty.
