very sad. my sister is a RN now she's at the hospital but started in a rehab and long term care.

she said a lot of folks are alone an family won't visit. we get a lot of elderly clients and sometimes they just want too chat.

felt bad for a 90yr old fella. wanted tile n grout cleaned but he had been waxing his ceramic tile for years. mustve had 100 coats even waxed his tile counter tops it was bad.

Wasn't a guilt trip or a jab bud and hope you didn't take it that way. Just not how I want to do things if I can help it. Mainly because I don't want my family to feel I'm a burden but this is my self reliant stubborness talking. Taking care of a family member is tough and coming to terms with the fact that it is difficult for you to do and seeking the proper care is admirable and preserves your mom's dignity and quality of life. Finding humor in those types of situations is a great thing as odd as it may seem.

I brought dinner to my girlfriend this weekend at work and ran into the ball room dancing guy. He repeated the cut her ankles off part and without missing a beat I said, well then she'll be stuck with me for good and can't run away then so fine by me. I've never seen someone laugh so hard in my life. Laughed so hard he shat himself :eekk::lol:Apparently he has a really dark sense of humor and I clicked with him.

A lot of stories of families just giving up letting their loved one and purposefully speeding up the death process. You're a great son for what you've done for her.
