Don't they make a aftermarket performance water pump for Chevy and Ford?

Something a little more robust than stock.
Have you heard of two water pumps one being on the motor and they other down line in your system?

Seems to be a lot of stress pumping coolant all thru those hoses.

Jimmy, have you had a problem or are you looking for a preemptive strike? I can't imagine what a high performance water pump would look like.

Yeah they make high flow pumps. Call summit racing if you are having a problem. They should be available for any ford or chevy. They are usually used for high performance racing or towing.

We used to replace failed water pumps with "heavy duty" models that cost an extra $15. I think they just had heavier than stock bearings though.

Pre-emptive

I wonder if the high performance racing pump would have any issues.

That is if I can find one.

Jimmy, it sounds like a good idea. If you find one suitable let me know. I have over 3300 hours on mine, and 80K plus miles. It is probably time for a replacement.

The 94 through 97 Dodge vans had a problem with electrolysis eating the inside of the pump. We were replacing a water pump at about the 60,000 mile mark. Later Dodges and GMCs haven't had that problem, so we're not replacing pumps anymore.
