Looking at a hardwood prefinished floor with what looks like a thin layer of wax, may be mop and glow or something similar . I am wondering what is the best way to remove this .

There's a company here that removes the original finish and puts a new one on. Trying to remove the wax finish will probably damage the factory finish.

What do you do with the wax? When I tried a floor like that the wax clogged my Dev filter in 10 minutes. It was a bad day.

Using an paint filter was probably your mistake. Jobs like this, you’ll just need to clean out your waste tank at the end of the day

Brush, it helped scrub anything that didn’t come right off
