Dont buy anything with plastic levers/triggers,you will be replacing them often. Thats why I buy the old advance machines myself.

I kinda like the Viper. The top of the motor holds the pad driver and you can stack bonnets and misc on top for transport. My only complaint about it is the skirt/bumper isn't thick on the bottom and comes off but that's fixable. My fave is that Advance you already have based on reliability and construction.

I really wanted the Mytee dual speed to use for per scrub and encap but I read somewhere its not recommended for carpet, something about it puts too much strain in the motor.

I don't exactly understand why that would be because its a 1.5 horsepower.

Does anyone know if it will hold up using it for carpet?

Do they recommend for all dual speeds to not use on carpet? Or do you know what kind will work well for carpet?

Anybody else ever have a Thoromatic? I bought one off Craig's list a few years ago. I was like new and works well even though it's only a 1 horse 17". They do have a 1.5 hrs. The only plastic on is the tank.
