I was thinking it was 14, but I can't remember for sure.

I recall some numbers as low as 12"hg.

Fear no evil, she'll hold 14" with no issues, and any dealer that says otherwise needs to jsutify why that tank won't hold 14"...even my M-5 super porty will hold 14"...lol

I cranked her up, she'll hold. Can't get any heat outta the salsa at 12", unless its 105 degrees!

I didn't know, that's why I haven't been on this.

I would of guessed the HG would of been more along 12 for factory settings.

I don't know that it's so much a tank implode concern as it is the stress day in and day to the drive line.
(the true weak link of direct drives)

the good thing is once you get the shaft spinning, its not all that much more torque. I think the new 3 speed system will help even more, not jerking the unit up to full speed right away.

there's a fair amount of difference in stress load between 12 and 14HG.
Between 10 and 12 HG there's not much difference , but there is between 12 and an honest 14HG with a 47 blower

i suspect that's a big reason why most manufactures set them in 12 range

14 and 15 HG puts a lot more stress on the system

well I guess we'll find out soon enough! Both my previous CDS were factory set at 14, my 47 had a 15" Bayco for the last 500 hours!

Mine was set at just under 15 and it's now at around 14.5. I seriously doubt it stays up there unless cleaning CGD. But 14-15 is what it said in my book for the lift setting.
