Why do you live where you do and where would youlike to be?

Born, raised or trapped in yout current city?

Moved there to live the life?

If you could relocate, where would you be?

Me, couldn't be happier in my new small town..

I live in central IA because this is where Mel is from and her family is here.

I traveled a lot in my 20’s. I thought I’d find the “perfect” spot, then settle down.

I found there was no perfect spot. Every area comes with some challenges.

    Life is hard.

I’d relocate for the right opportunity but I’ve learned to love central IA.

Mel and I talk about moving south sometimes. This Winter has been just shy of completely miserable.

Winter always gives way to Spring eventually, though.

Ok, then I'll give you my answer:

I hate where I live. My parents dragged me here when I was a kid, and was too book lazy to finish school to get a decent job to move out of here. Currently, I'm trapped.

I'd like to live in an area like Charlotte, NC...Knoxville, TN...or Nashville, Tn

How are those southern burgs different than where you're at currently?

You’re not as trapped as you think.

I started sucking rug in Charlotte in ‘99. It’s a really pretty city, a stark contrast from my roots in upstate NY.

    Tennessee, Texas, Arizona, maybe Florida.

I’d give any of those states a look.

CO too, but definitely NOT Denver.

I mean metro Denver. No offense to some of the beautiful suburbs.

    Normal civilization.
-More things to do for recreation
    -Georgia weather IS NOT there
-It's not a small town where you have to dodge people when you go grocery shopping
-You don't have to drive 45min just to go to a decent restaurant
-It's away from my immediate family, and a few inlaws

I like rural areas, there is more of a comaradie amongst the people. You could probably compare the atmosphere between T.M.F. (Big City) and Mikeysboard (Rural) as far as the atmosphere on the boards is concerned.

Born here, raised here, likely die here. I love all about it but the winters.
I don't mind the cold but hate the ice and not too much for the snow either.

Where would I go if I could? I used to think the desert but I think somewhere with seasons. Somewhere moderate temps and less humidity than here.

What brought you to move where are now Mike? And what other places had you thought to move before you settled at "The Ponderosa"?

    Born in AZ...
was not long after we moved to Oklahoma..did most my elementary schooling there...
A tornado tore up the house my dad had built for us.....so we moved back to AZ...
finished school here...messed around doing different things....landed a machine repair job that flew me to different states to repair or install things for different equipment...
95% of the places they sent me was Minnesota...so I figured it would be easier to move up there...I have done a bunch of stupid things in my life...but pulling up out of the desert and moving to those insane freezing temps was the peak of my stupidity.....stayed there for some years until I had enough and went back to Oklahoma..bought some land and worked in Gainesville Texas...spent many years there...living the good life...and enjoying every day...things happened ...and I was needed back in Az...so I sold everything and moved back......the day I sell this company or what ever...and it is time for me to hang it up...I will not hesitate to move back into small-town Oklahoma...get some land..and horses again...and restart where I left off.....I have missed it every day since I left......

Our family cabin an hour twenty south of here.
Every visit made it harder and harder to return to the populos..

Crime, crowds and costlyness made it intolerably.
Pt 2 HAD to be dramatically different.

When my wife and I were living on the west coast, our neighbors owned property in Panama. If we didn’t have children, we were going to move their aswell. We chat on fakebook often, and I think we missed out on a great adventure.... they are living in Pedasi, and it looks beautiful.... lots of American and Canadian expats..... maybe when the kids get older...

There are happy,...and unhappy people everywhere. So it's NOT about the geography.

Totally agree Lee. But I think it would be a lot easier to be happy living in the tropics, than some unknown one horse town somewhere.....

I live in one of those unknown one horse towns. I love it and hope everyone doesn't move here and spoil it.

We are just a few hours from Nashville, St Louis, Memphis, Indy, or Atlanta if need be.
