My Nautilus MX3-500H has done me some work but to be truthful it's not been kind about it. I bought this machine new from an Australian distributor in April 2016 and within 18 months the pump had worn away to nothing. Just hopeless.

In my wisdom when I bough the extractor I ordered a spare pump motor and assembly and installed it. Now just 7 months in the pump is worn.

This would be less of a big deal if pumps weren't just shy for $2,000 in Australia.

Thankfully Rotovac came to the rescue with a price you can't beat with a stick. And they looked after me on the shipping.

When your back's to the wall it's the people that help who show they have what it takes when it really counts....

Thanks @Rotovac

Are the pumps getting ruined by something you shouldn't use?
With the first pump very possibly. But the subsequent one has never seen in tank chemical. Just clean water.

It's got me beat.

I have helped several guys with a simple fix to this problem.

Get a 50' length of 3/8" air hose.

Put your QC on the work end of the hose.

With appropriate adaptors, put a female garden hose fitting on the other end.

At a good hardware store buy one or several adaptors from sink to garden hose.

DON'T LAUGH. You will be amazed at how well it works.

I found this out in desperation on a big Murray State job in 1979 when several pumps failed. Used this setup often after that.

One adaptor fits 95% of sinks, and I accumulated a few oddball adapters when I see them at hardware stores.

I've done this more than once when I was carpet cleaner, and a few times since cleaning my rental properties. You learn a great deal about the value of a good preconditioner, agitation, and dwell time when you do that.

Its especially good when you have that job where there is about 5 square feet left when your unit goes down....

I soldered an aerator straight to a garden fitting for a hotel I used to clean for
