Fired an employee yesterday. Too high a maitanence , unrealistic work ethic, not willing to go that extra mile that separates my business from the others. 20 bucks an hour, production bonus money tied to customer satisfaction, lunches, coffee, etc,. He started well but stalled Slater a year.

He's entitled to unemployment but I believe he's got other options. I wasn't nasty about it and I plan on staying in touch with him. I explained it was a business decision and not personal which he accepted and seemed to understand. He acknowledged his heart wasn't in to it. It wasn't easy to do and now I have a lot of long hours ahead of me until I can find someone else to fill the void. But it was the best decision for my business.
