Not very long. I had it for about a week before the machine was installed. After that, when I put all of my crap in it, the new smell was pretty much gone.

Haven't found any bodywash or soap though.

If you buy a K&N filter ( cabin air filter) for some reason it gives a mild new car smell for quite a while. I just put one on our 1 year old Honda Civic about a 6 weeks ago and couldn't figure out why the car smelled new again. Then I realized it was the filter.
