I haven't tried this unit out yet but I can't wait! Justin F gave me a sweetheart deal and I bet I will use it daily to increase the value we deliver to our customers. I bet it will speed me up some, if i can favor the CRB/wand at times over my rotary extractor. I also hope to scrub tile and grout with it.

I probably should have bought it long ago, but I'm glad I have it now.

Any suggestions or tips on how a single guy can use a CRB to continue DOMINATING his local competition?

Maintenance?

Things to watch out for?

Ive got the renovators and 3 sets of brushes thanks to my brother in PA...Thanks Justin!!!

Clean it often best if you can clean it after every job or couple of jobs. Quick spray down and wipe Dow will keep it looking and running good for a long time.

As you said, it's perfect for those light soil situation when just wanding won't do, but RE is overkill.

A must for staircases.

Marty is just frustrated that he bought the wrong size.

I figure I can probably get away with a CRB/wand in bedrooms, halls, and stairs.

I like to use the RE in almost all living rooms but maybe I'll occasionally leave the RotoVac in the truck...

What flow are you guys using on the wand after CRB. I'm at 6 flow but can increase if it will help me to move through a home quicker without adding a lot of dry time.

I've got a 14" Westpak with a 2" tube and green glide.

I'd love a Devastator Wand and a Zipper (not sure which Zipper).

6 or 8 would be fine with your truck

8 for sure with the Devastator, which imo is better than the Zipper for residential use

As much as I like mine it still has its limits.

Some carbide brushes might help even more.

Gets used everyday with us.

Clean off the brushes by spinning backwards direction but still good to pull the pins and brushes to clean and wipe at least once a week...

Put WD 40 on the long rods and also the four bearings on the end caps.

Run the heck out of her and enjoy!

Just love these little gems

So am I using the renovators on the average residential carpet?

Covering mostly just spots and traffic areas or try to cover all carpet?

Ever try the CRB after rotary extraction to take out swirls and groom?

Can I pretty much just fly over the carpet with a wand or Zipper (someday)? It does seem like a tool that will go a long way to agitate.

When will I want to use the renovators?

I don't really use the renovators....

We prespray and run over most everything....

Even though 10 inch...it goes fast....

And we then Zipper usually after.

Also, if you have not got the commercial Brown Brushes yet (they look black almost) you should get a set. I think Erik Hiltz has them in stock

Thanks Mark! I do have 3 sets of brushes. I think the brown are for tile and there are a set that look black that are really soft.

I think the white are the "go to".

Do you bring that little tray in with the CRB?

Yep. I don't roll it around, its small and light. The whites are the giro and like Mark said the dark brown that look black are great for tile. The black ones are soft but at a quick glance the colors are hard to differentiate.

I leave the brown brushes on all time now. I clean a lot of crushed polyester though

I've done 2 small residential jobs with it today.

So easy to run. I can't think of anything to mess up, as long as you don't run over the cord and other stuff with it.

I can see the attraction to a CRB/Zipper combo even though I don't own a Zipper yet.

I really moved through the wanding part.

Plush carpet seems to still need grooming after. It looks slightly matted after the wand and I'm picky.

We just sent our 10 and 1/2 months old 10" CRB in for repairs. All the guts are corroded. We don't know exactly why but it may be the chemicals I prespray usually Dry Slurry or Flex or Procyon. Or maybe it's the way we clean it or something. Dang, these repairs are not covered under the warranty so please be advised.

I always clean my CRB as part of the day's work. On 'Make and Mend' day, I take the brushes off (similar to what Mark said) and after cleaning and scraping the hard to reach stuff, hose the parts down with dry lube spray.

I haven't used any lube at all. I clean the underside with a green pad and water.
