That was the question a client asked today. She had already scheduled an appointment with another company and had planned to vacuum her own carpets. Her vacuum broke and when she called the company to see if they vacuumed, they said no. Even though I am more expensive, by $50 dollars, it's worth it to her. We haven't always vacuumed but more and more, our customers are becoming more educated. Maybe you should advertise that you pre vacuum. You never know who that clicks with.

Guess I’m lucky then.... they moved EVERYTHING, and vacuumed both directions, just as instructed... 538CA2E6-5DEE-4709-AF87-EA1E24FCA1D8.jpeg

I was doing a demo for a Client I was hoping to get when I re-started here in Florida...again.
She showed up to watch me.
I vacuumed the property and then I did a quick edge vacuum.
She stopped me and said I was already there longer than the guys they were using. SS.
I have had the account since then...I am twice as much $.
I agree that there are educated consumers out there and with all the carpet cleaning videos on youtube that apparently people watch...Mike... They are becoming more educated.

I dont, not because I want to skip a step. Let me explain. I believe that a CRB will get out more loose soil out of a carpet than a vacuum. A vacuum just cant separate and lift the pile as well as a CRB. And thats where most of the soil is - inbetween the matted fibers, not on top of them.

the CRB separates the fibers, freeing the soil which is easily removed during cleaning.

now if you want to CRB, vacuum and then clean, go for it. But thats overkill....

Customer asked today if she could vacuum when I was done. I asked why. She said last time someone cleaned her carpet she had to vacuum when the left. Must have been a padder.

We use the crb more as an agitation tool rather than to remove dry soil. Usually vacuum, prespray, crb scrub, rinse. If you're really anal about removing dry soil, vacuum, crb with the renovators attached. It'll blow your mind how much more soil is removed.

just saying, why have a vacuum AND a CRB on the truck. Space is a premium
I knew there was a catch. She forgot to tell me that her vacuum broke LAST YEAR. Wall to Wall dog hair. Black dog, black dog, have you any wool? Yes sir, yes sir, 3 bags full. That's what it took to vacuum her carpets.

I hate it when the people say ‘my vacuum broke a WHILE ago’. We all know what that means...
I went and did a quote at a flooring store today for their carpets. As I was measuring up, there was a warehouse dude rolling up an area rug. He went to pick it up, and fumbled, dropped it, and the angle of the sun was just right coming through the store window. The dust cloud was seen by all the front end sales staff, and immediately I asked to see their vacuum. My contact took me into the warehouse, and showed me a Taski vac. FLAT FLOOR TOOL.... the carpet is 9 years old, and so is the vac.... I opened the canister, and I bet it hasn’t been cleaned in a year or 2.....

Bomb it with a strong Prespray and scrub with the crb extract with a good rinse. Pull the paint screen and replace. On to the next.

The extra dwell works great for the dog odors. And you don't have to breath all that allergy ridden hair and dander.

I definitely recommend Mike. He is thorough, pleasant, and his price was reasonable. For me to say that our carpet almost sparkled is the ultimate compliment as I am a touch OCD. This was the first time I didn't feel the need to vacuum as soon as the carpet dried as his process did not leave stiff fibers.

Vac
Edge
Spray w/ UE
CRB
Dev12 w/ Optimal Rinse...

It’s baffling how so many cleaners rationalize not removing dry soil🤷🏽‍♂️ When we don’t properly vacuum we are nothing more than mud makers😡

I used to say that when i used HOST. Add water to dirt and you get Mud.

So your saying that the soil the vacuum gets out would turn to mud but the soil the vacuum cant get out doesnt turn to mud?

As Ive always said, call 50 different carpet cleaners and you will get 50 different prices and 50 different results because they will have 50 different opinions on how to do the job properly.
Nobody is right. Nobody is wrong.

The more dry soil you remove, the more effective your prespray and rinse will be. Simple as that.
