We started the month off slow because this November thanksgiving was a week later than last year. I was worried the first week or so of the month but we started picking up and we are in the full swing of things it just came a week later than it did last year. Yesterday we ran 201 jobs and monday we have 167 so far and we are still booking. I am sure the market in California is a much tougher but we have not really seen business have drastic ups and downs because of politics but i am sure that may be different in California. Do you know why everyone is moving out of California? jobs or home market?
Retirement boomers know their money goes farther elsewhere.

they can cash out of a house here pay cash most other places and put money in the bank.

you did 201 jobs in one day? Nice!
Yes today is 209. Business is great but with that many jobs things are bound to happen, trucks break down, guys get sick and its stressful making it all happen. I will be glad when thanksgiving is over and we get a month or two to slow down make sure employees are trained and relax a bit before we start all over again in march for spring cleaning.

How many trucks is that Troy, if you don't mind me asking? Do you do mechanical repairs in house or do you contract that out?

We have 72 trucks in our fleet all together this is counting sales reps and estimators but out of those we have 22 butler units that clean carpet and we have 7 or 8 water trucks also with butler units. The 209 jobs today are being ran with 23 trucks.

We also have full time in house mechanics. I have one guy who is the main mechanic and a younger guy he is teaching the ropes to. Our mechanic does everything in house but engine swaps and transmission repairs. It is also very helpful because he does road calls and fixes trucks and equipment in the field.

Wow, that's a nice operation. I always admire people who can put together a solid business like that. I have worked for several large operations but have never had the desire to build one myself. It's inspiring for little guys to see how much work is actually being done in their area.

I'm looking for 1 fulltimer on my commercial evening side and 1 part timer on carpets and thats big enough for me

Even though it wasn't in my own business I don't miss large numbers of staff

wow you guys are good! lol.. That is our website, when you look at that site it may look generic when it comes to ad copy on the site but it was built for marketing intensions and lead generation not to sound good or look good. our owner is a super great guy he has built this business from the ground up and we are about helping other people. We have always worked with other companies. No, our owner does not care that I am here. I am very lucky in the fact that our owner lets me run the company like it is personally mine. I would consider this building relationships with others, getting good info to help build our company. I think boards like this are a great networking tool and opportunity to meet other owners, operators and employees and share ideas to become successful. I have met alot of great people in the industry i have had other companies come visit our operation from other states and helped other companies build their marketing program and launch there carpet program. Just because we run 100's of jobs a day does not mean that we can not learn a better way of doing things or a better way to operate our business. We are always looking for that edge to make us better and I am glad I am here.

we have over 1,000 reviews on google, over 1,000 on angieslist etc etc. Yelp is a pay to play platform which we are working on in 2020 for sure. Yelp is a hard company to work for. We pay attention to our online reputation and your correct yelp looks ugly. we have changed our social media marketing for 2020 and part of that is to perform better on yelp along with some local seo stuff so i am attempting to work on that this year

@TF_Troy What's the difference between carpet cleaning and steam cleaning as stated on your company website?

Based on what I can tell by his coupon pricing I’d say the difference is about $25 per room up sell charge
