Other than not covering the floor, I don't see what the big deal is.

I have small business owner bias, so anyone who offers me additional services with respect and restraint annoys me not at all.
The unprotected wood floor would get them put out the door though. All the goodwill gained by the door protection is negated by the lack of care shown to the wood floor.
The “inner Fred Boyle” in me would tell them to take the @##&& thing off my door and put it on the floor instead.
