I’m curious as to how many of you are still cleaning during a lock-down. It’s my understanding that it’s ok since we’re not retail, but is it ethical and how does it appear to the neighbors with a truck humming away outside during a pandemic? The county I live in just went on a 2-week lock-down starting yesterday. I canceled this morning's cleaning with an elderly couple due to risk factor. Still deciding on whether to clean for younger customers who are not concerned about risk.
If I don't clean, I don't eat. I'd rather take my chances with a virus than starve to death. I am doing a large commercial project this week. Keeps me healthy to be out working and keeps the customers carpets healthy. At least until the next person sneezes on it. I am avoiding restaurants and using drive ins for my coffee on the morning. I have disinfectant wipes on the truck and am using them. There's nothing more I can do. If I get sick, I'll stay at home but until then, it's life as normal.

How many of us will actually stay home if we get sick?
How many of us will get tested if we think we have the virus?
If it means you can’t work, and you might go out of business, will you fudge it?

Think about that.
I can survive maybe a month on my chequing account. After that I would have to start robbing my retirement fund, similar to your 401k. If you really think you have the virus, get tested, follow the medical guidelines. If you have difficulty breathing, call for an ambulance because you likely have pneumonia. You can't go out infecting other people. You're probably not want to go to work anyway.

We have already had it I think. Back in December. Everyone who got it complained of breathing issues for a week or so after.
I think we got it from Gennys son who is some coworkers come back from China and got the whole plant sick. Everyone felt it was a different kind of flu. Hit hard and fast but only lasted a day or two except for the lingering lung issues.
I just Hope I don't get it again.

I agree with part of Omar's editorial .
the panic and response will cause far more damage than the flu.
saw that some time ago

He might be smArter than me, but can't see the other part;

Not sure I see purposely "wreck the wests'" economies though
don't see how intentionally hurting the US economy benefits China.
Be like putting the dik to your best customer...that don't make no cents

and calling the second largest economy in the world an "emerging" super power, is kinda like saying Amazon's gonna be big some day

Russia?.....fk'em
BD country ruled by corrupt oligarchs that would be hard pressed to do serious economic damage ...even if they wanted to, they can't afford to turn the gas valve off.
(the only leverage they really have)

what I do know is, the frantic arm flailing and hysteria over a GD'd virus is crippling the economy
and perhaps for a very long time

Scotty, beam me the fck up.....

Just received an email from my children’s school. They both go to a private institution. It was asked if we can donate our time and expertise in helping to do a total ‘deep’ clean on all school surfaces.
I know I need to do my part here locally....
Are any of you helping out in any way locally?
And yes, the phone has died down to 1-2 calls a day.... usually, a slow phone day is between 4-6....
A good phone day is between 12-16....
Fook....

The deep clean will only help until the next person coughs and sneezes. The building I was working in today has brought in more staff and they are wiping down all touch surfaces. Door handles, elevator pads etc. Beyond that, there's not much else you can do.

I feel like I’m doing SOMETHING.... I will leave them with a case of Decon 30 for the touch points...

We have some work but not much coming in. Large commercial just cancelled today. Their visitor cancelled due to virus. So they cancelled us.

As long as the homes are healthy that schedule and I am healthy they will get clean carpets.

It is unknown if we will be allowed to go out if the complete lockdown happens. I will be on my way to the grocery everytime I get pulled over.

Even though that maybe true, I’ve been asked to clean ALL the chairs in a 11 storey tech building...
I lost count after 350, and was only up to the 2nd floor....
That job alone will not only pay for the machine, I’ll be into profit after level 2....
I wish I wasn't busy or I'd show up with a few parties and my work boots.
