CWR works if the right prespray is used.

However my 3rd son, Jason, who did commercial only, disliked it for two reasons.

1. If prespray was off or gapped at all, having inline rinse detergent covered the gaps or missed spots and allowed faster job completion.

2. Because all of his work was repeat scheduled commercial it wasn't a liability for it to be dirty again. He didn't like hearing "it still looks so good, let's skip this month".

However his mostly residential old man stayed on his high horse and used cwr.

I keep hearing guys who insist on an acid rinse because they want to neutralize their high ph prespray but they have never performed a ph test on the carpet after cleaning. I can use a 10 ph prespray, rinse with 10 ph extraction detergent and still leave the carpet close to neutral. The reason we use a high ph prespray is because the soil in the carpet is acidic in nature. Try this test, take your favorite 12 ph prespray, scrub it in with a crb, let dwell for at least 10 minutes, then test with a ph indicator pen. Tell me what the ph is. Having said that, I don't go over 10 ph on residential unless its trashed. Products like Code Red or Prochem Extreme are for commercial. I rinse with Procyon Plus powder, ph around 9.5-10. My carpets are never browned out or crunchy.

IMO an acid rinse is only needed if a high Ph pre-spray is used.
since I'm mostly cleaning wool, I clean at 8 ph.

However, when I had my V I might only do 2 strokes, now I'm doing at least 5 strokes.

The use of CWR vs Acid Rinse will depend on the pre-spray used and the detergent residue left by prior cleanings.

Clear water rinse does not remove as much residue as a proper extraction detergent. Put some on your hands and see how long it takes to rinse off under a tap.

On a mill tour in 1989 in Decauter AL several Monsanto engineers made their wish known that cleaners would clear rinse. I believe Bill Y among others was there. It was their feeling that excessive cleaning residue was the source of most claims.

That being said, chemistry and especially rinse agents have improved since then.

I have also not received the latest Prochem product but I use their older product .

Are you saying that you can rinse your prespray off your hands better with more cleaner?
I feel it rinses best with hard water. I use soft.

When I use Ultra Pac I use a lot of it. I think a swr works best for that.

I use all fiber rinse when I'm using prozyme plus and OSR sometimes. Depends on if I soak it down or just treat some areas lighter than others.

I've seen products gel so ultra pac to me is stand alone. The gel has nothing to do with how well you flush it. It happens on contact and the way i soak em down i doubt I'm getting it all back out no matter how much I flush it. It doesn't rinse easily no matter what.

If you dilute a extraction detergent to the correct amount and spray it on your hands, yes, it will remove the traffic lane cleaner better and faster.

We have always used a rinse though out our cleaning days when we went from just one part chemistry cleaning in the old days.

I feel we can see a difference when using a rinse. Things seem cleaner and softer, and the colors pop more from rinses tapping into those acid dye blockers.

My .02 cents of thought...
