Taking 3 days to unwind. Drove up to Dahlonega from Savannah today. Going to be here till Monday. I’ll hit up the best beer pubs I can find tonight and tomorrow. Early to bed tomorrow night to get ready for Sunday.
6 Gap. Riding my bicycle with 3,000 other cyclists, 12,500 fit of climbing, maybe that much downhill, 100 miles.
Drive home Monday and back to the grind.

So, you’re saying you’ll be drinking alone for three days.
No. Yes. But the main point is uninterrupted self -reflection. I will have a few beers. Mainly because I enjoy beer. Most important will be my focus on rules and goals for ‘23. You’d be surprised how physical exertion to the point of failure can “get your mind right.”

But…

Why do we defend ourselves from strangers?

What is your wife mad about?
Actually. She’s not mad. I don’t how I’ve accomplished this feat.
The view out my window.

Road bike or mountain bike riding. If mountain biking is your choice, are you on Bull Mountain over there? The climb is a bitch. Made me vomit last time I climbed it

Self reflection is best done on board a KLR for 4 days.

No music, no www, just my beautiful reflection cast on the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada.

Leaving on Thursday.

Good thing my extended shift lever came in today.

104 miles on a road bike regardless of speed, elevation gain or time completed is impressive no matter what.

You don't just do that out of the blue. You obviously ride regularly.

The ride my Santa Cruz buddy and I did yesterday was pretty much the best single tracking I've ever done and I've been riding mountain bikes since the '90s pre-suspension click shifting clipless pedals v brakes, disc brakes and all the rest and I've seen a lot of trails but this was absolutely incredible but man was it work at that elevation.

The hike a bike sections pushing a 50 lb bike uphill, I could have done without

While you were riding that top of the line bike in the nineties, my 15yo self was rocking a huffy at some of the hardest trails in ne Georgia.

You still enjoying that off-road moped that I’m jealous about?
