Who is/was your mentor?

When you think about your career, longevity, and success, who helped/taught/mentored you the most along the way?

What was the single best thing you took from that mentor in any topic, business, cleaning, people management, selling, anything at all.

I learned from family who owned other businesses and have a small group of us cleaners who text and keep in contact daily

This helps bounce ideas or help with problems

Then I listened to a bunch of audiobooks and even paid for a mentor (didn’t think it was worth it)

I never really had a mentor, but all of these pros and gurus on the internet boards sure kept me from ruining alot of stuff. Also had some great teachers at various classes like Steve Andrews and Doug Bowles.

My mentors taught me to:

Have multiple sources of income.
Life is full of peaks and valleys- so have a backup plan.
It's better to be the owner than an employee. However, an owner is someone willing to work 12-14 hour days during the growth stage to avoid working 8 hours a day for someone else.
Education or knowledge helps with success- so never stop learning or improving.
