My "10 speed"?
"we" rode this style bike for many decades before carbon frames with sloped top tubes and long seats posts provided flex and (some ) comfort.
It remains to be seen if a carbon fork is all that, but I don't expect the new bike to be any more or less painful.
Cycling is pain, if you really ride.
A few laps around the city park or pump track is not cycling imo.
