I hand write it on almost every invoice.

Eventually you develop a sense of when to omit it, either for issues of cleanability of the task, or a suspected impossibility to please a customer.

I have a box on my invoice thye have to sign. It says "gaurantee not applicable" I rarely have people sign it, but when I have that feeling that they are expecting new carpet and wont listen to me tell them it needs replacing I have them sign it,

i cant guarantee the spots wont come back but if they do so will I.

thats my promise.

that way i can go back and reevaluate the work if i get a call back. most often its new spots they want cleaned free.

this has worked real well for me.

If you get in the habit of taking pictures you will find that the spots seem to return in different places...
