After 14 years(omg) doing this I finally got to work with my son on a real job!

I worked with/for my grandfather(painter) and father(paving) in their businesses and this has been a long time coming. Extremely rewarding day that he and I will never forget.

It also helped that the longtime client wanted outdoor rugs cleaned, figured we/he should be safe... What can he break outside?! So, we get there and I almost shit myself when she asked if we could do some cat spots is the basement!:eekk: Like in your house? With him??? Managed to keep one eye on him and other eye on cleaning in a house that cost as much as my block. Kids a bull in a china shop...

Well he did great, didn't say anything stupid in front of them, nothing broke, well done... He did practically shat himself and scream when she gave him 40 bucks and I;m pretty sure he did poop when I surprised him that morning that he was coming with.

Note to self... Kids are dumb and on a hot day they will drink all the water in the first 10 minutes!!!:hopeless:

Great post. My boy is 10 and has been on a few jobs. Customers love him as he plays with his Transformers toys. LOL

He said Daddy I want a new van when I start working ok.
He talks about the old trucks I have run but loves riding up front in the Promaster.
Every morning he turns on rear camera on the way to school. Well when he went to school that is.

If wants to work with me he can after he tries college. Maybe he can grow my small biz one day.

Congratulations Jerry! It is a great feeling. Very rewarding and challenging. Both of my sons worked with me full time for many years then moved on.

My son has been with me around 10 years now, or maybe slightly longer. We’ve reached the point to where we are a well oiled machine. We don’t even see each other everyday anymore. We text each other about the next days schedule and occasionally find each other at the office at the same time.
