Will that mount on the outside of the box like the stock one Greenie? If not, do you have one that will?

I like to be able to close my door.

What size is the square tube that the ports are welded to.

If you want to make your own, the tube is a 2"x3", the round alum. tubing I use is about 50 thousandths, the rear three tubes are 2" tubing, and the front is 2.5". The welds were............just kiddin'

I specialize in making stuff for guys who don't have the time or talent, if you do then you wouldn't need to ask me a thing.

No just doing the math. three 2"=11.775",2"x3"=6",two 2.5"=7.78 center tube needs to be 3.5"x3.5" or flow will be restricted.

to get the area. radius x 3.14. a 2" pipe has a area of 3.14 "x3=9.42",2.5 has area of 3.92"x2=7.84" .3"x2"=6" .I Said 11.775 for the three 2" but it is 9.42". you still need a 3.5"x3" center tube

I am a little rusty (actually a LOT) but I thought it was pi x r x r = a.
the center tube is not cylindrical, so wouldn't that change things a little?

I showed it to a friend. he said that as long as the pipes are offset there would be very little loss. i think i'll buy one.

to find the area of a square . height x width. 3"x 2"=6

I don't think it is a square, rectangular prism I think. You need to find volume not area. But then again I am rusty and I could be wrong.

so if the tube was 3"x1" it would not restrict the flow.i think it would.the transition area still has to have enough room to flow.

Rex is correct; the area of a circle is PixRxR. Therefore, a 2" tube would have a surface area at the opening of 3.14" A 2.5" tube would have 4.91" and a 3" tube would have 7.07". From the design of the adapter and the fact that you aren't combining the flows and carrying them for a distance (they are simply being 'expanded' into a larger area of low pressure), the size of the trapezoid should be fine.

My key question on this design (and this is just a nit-picky thought greenie); doesn't the shape and size of the box cause a great deal of turbulence? I would think that a molded, sloped design would even increase flow further???? Especially the wing areas at the sides of the box. That seems like dead air space that would just stir up more turbulence.

Just trying to think of ways to further improve it.

ROFLMAO!

You guys are killing me.

Aaron, you are correct, it's not designed by NASA, the "box" between the tubes is just a collection chamber, it could be streamlined and ported/polished, but not for $125 retail.

I threw that design out real quick, and it works, Like Mikey said, So I'm not messin' with it for now.

There are bigger projects on the drawing board.
