I have two hour meters on my C4

One analog meter that came with the unit with 0 hours on it and one Tiny Tac that I put on it about 5 hours into ownership.

When the unit is running the Tiny Tac shows the RPMS, when it's off it shows the hours.

It also flashes every 50 hours as a reminder to brush my teeth.

For some weird reason the TT is reading 642 and the Analog is showing 602 ..

The TT runs on a battery and has it's sending/reading wire wrapped around a spark plug.

I could be wrong but I believe the tiny tach is counting hours anytime the key is in the on position and the analog is only counting when the engine is running.

I think its the other way around. Analog runs with key and TT is activated by impulse from plug wire. I have both on my PowerClean and have the same difference in readings as Mike.

analogs drag.....if you watch it all the way to the right you can see it vibrate...and jump up and down...this slows down the hour rate and in time it will lose accurate hours..

if a analog is all you run then you will never know the difference....put it up against an accurate digital and you will see the true hours......

Just change the engine oil as soon as it starts turning dark.

Change the pump oil and blower oil every time you have your prostate checked.

It doesn't have to be an exact science.
