yeah, I got to use an old style Dyson on a large doggy job yesterday, despite the roll being covered in long hair, it was pretty impressive how much that Wool Bloomer picks up.

The long wand inside the hose set up was a major pita though.
Like Marty says, cleaning right to the edge ability was very good.
Dirt cup size is way too small.
Easy access to the brush roll department was nice but those plastic screws are a joke.
A clutch to kill the roll is nice that relying on a tiny second motor
Too bad they killed it.

May I suggest if you are going to drag in a HOUSEWIFE special vacuum to clean your snobby upscale liberal POS clients why not just get a ROOMBA.
No need to hire a RETARD or an ILLEGAL for just vacuuming.

maybe I could hire a cute little monkey like the one on Friends to run the Roomba with a joy stick.

I think I have motion sickness now.

At least the other primadonna's hand waving doesn't make me nauseous.

he whole demeanor makes me nauseous.

I watched his 20 ways to dry a carpet video.

I wanted to reply, "just skip all that BS and buy an Aerotech.

looks like Shark and Dyson spent their marketing money on TV instead of paying off the carpet mills.

Funny how Mohawk says to use an adjustable height vacuum yet put the Oreck on the top of the list, which has none.

The old Dyson is definitely too harsh for regular use.. Remember this thread?

The sad thing is, there is no perfect vacuum for what we(carpet cleaning nerds) do.

We NEED the deep cleaning of the Dirty Air systems (Kirby, Royal, Sanitaire) and we NEED the convenience of a quick access hose to edge and do upholstery and we NEED a dirt cup to see where to spend more time or not to waste time.

If only THEY would listen..

that loooong hose in the 1st Dyson (DC07) quickly becomes a breeze to pull out. 2 seconds. on a 12 step staircase i can leave the Dyson at the bottom and clean the 1st 9 before i have to lug it up for the last 3 steps. and the dustcup on that model was the largest for a Dyson. after that they got smaller :-\

is the Shark's pull-off-canister/wand any easier to remove and wand stairs??

The Shark's hose and wand is a complete disaster compared to the Dyson.

And the stupid Shark is so top heavy that it falls over when you use the hose.
