How many of you HAVE to have this number to actually be able to process a card?

Techs forget to get it, clients dont know to give it when they right down or call in the number..

we have been doing it for over a year and have had no problems..cheaper than
the other way we were processing and you will never have to batch out..it is automatic.
i used to hate it when i would forger to batch out or if i was out late and batched out
too late and it all went to the next day..

Shop around. I don't think I have ever HAD to put in the security code. I've been with three different services that I can think of. I'm still with Intuit right now and no problems.

The one thing I HAVE to put in now is the billing zip code...funny thing is, it doesn't have to be correct to work...go figure.

I just got signed up for Intuit's GoPayment. Use it on my Droid, process charges right there and will also SMS or E-mail the receipt to the customer. There is also a bluetooth card swipe/printer that will leave a receipt and you with a signed copy. Syncs your data into QuickBooks with also syncs with SM, so everything gets along.

Gives u Visa, MC and Discover services by default, amex and others are additional approvals.

Check it out... Free setup and 60 days of service.

no but you'll pay for less info with a higher transaction fee.

I think you also get a better rate if you furnish the cvv2 code from your customers.
It may also be up to the individual card holder, or car issuer, to require the cvv2 code per transaction. You can have it as a requirement to protect your account from unauthorized charges, or not.

Tell them you don't take credit cards
cash, cheque or direct credit our bank account.

Think of it as your patriotic duty Michael to wean them off their card.

why make it difficult for customers to do business? I don't have to put the CV in, but try to because it affects the rate somehow...

I need the security code for every transaction, it's not that big of a deal after you get use to it. Just a pain at first.

Not getting the security code changes the rate so I do try to get it whenever I can. I fill out as much info when processing as possible just to have record of it and to try to get the best rate.

What are you going to do Mikey?

I am still looking into Capitol One because they allow you to do a reaccuring charge and Intuit won't...at least not with the virtual terminal.

One thing about Intuit is they have some charges pop up that I am not sure what they are...I need to check on that.
Propay is still the cheapest I've been on...but kind of a pain to use. Sometimes you get what you pay for.

Ron,
Do they have a virtual terminal? Can you call in the credit card to an automated 800 number?
I didn't see it on there.
Thanks

I may do that.
How long does it take to see the money in the bank?

My bank tells me if I use their service, it's within 24 hours...not a huge deal but a decent incentive.

I get cautious when I see FREE written like that so many times. I wonder where they're making the money.

My machine asks for the 3dig code but if I don't enter it, it still processes.
I'm paying $32/month just for the machine.
That Iphone program from the other thread looks interesting, but does it require a data plan for the Iphone or laptop, in which case I'd still be paying $30-50/month

I signed up for the service Elavon through Costco. I have to get 1) the 3 digit security code, 2) the street number and 3) the zip code the statement is sent to. What a royal PITA.
