3valve motor woes.

Had a nasty rattle in the Expedition. It was running rough in reverse and throwing a timing code.
Pulled the front of the motor off and the chain guide had broke.

Pulled off the oil pan and found the rest of the guide.

I get so tired of the problems that the 3 valve ford motors have.

Yea. We got it back together and it still has a timing problem. I think it might get traded in.

Yes. Replaced all of the timing parts, tensioner, guides, and chain. It is retarding itself on the left side. Me thinks it needs a new head. Not going to dump the money or time into that. I'll get a new motor first.

I don't know all of the years that are 3 valves, but I know it included 2001-2005 expedition and F150.
