Has anyone measured the external operating temperature on the shaft end casing of a 5009 Tuthill blower operating under load, 10 to 12 inches. Just had mine rebuilt and is running around 250-300 external degrees measured by infrared gun,at one point gotten in the 340's, this I feel is way too hot, gear box around 220.Waiting for a return call from rebuilder who told me to change oil ( to tuthill oil) since I had Roots oil in it initially, only had run a couple hours. Never measured it prior to rebuild. Running 2800 rpms on a chemspec 860 . Compared it to another 860 with a roots which ran around 200-210.
