I got to write up an estimate on cleaning about 670 theater seats. What is the going rate for something like that?

Thanks.

I would base my estimate on how long I thought it would take. Come up with an hourly rate that makes me happy. Then divide that by 670.

Base your price on how long it will take to do one seat.
1-2 min seems about right

Better to knock off that 3 cents to $2.97 in case somebody bids it at $3

There's seats then seats..
Armrests? Backs? Soiling level? One off clean vs scheduled?
Without knowing exact specs I'd count on 3-4 mins a seat.
Knowing that at the start I'd probably be faster, but by the end not so much

Since I haven't been to a theater for a few years I was thinking the old style seat and back with arm rests
Last time I went EVERYBODY WAS TEXTING AND TALKING ON THEIR FOOKING CELL PHONES!
AND THE MOVIE WAS THOR AND THEY HAD WOKE BS AND HAD TO SHOW SOME FAG CARTOON FIGURES KISSING!

FOOK THAT!

Honestly. I don’t even want the job. I guess I’m becoming a snob. But if anything I’ll go up on price. I figured just the seats would take me 14 hours. They want all the tile and carpet cleaned as well.

I could bring both vans and stick my son on one and really make some progress.

They are not gong to go for over 8 bucks a chair

I was thinking around 7.50, mind you, people are cheap.

I’d love to charge 15-17 each. Clean the fabric, and a clean rag and mild detergent for the hard surface.

They expect the ENTIRE chair to be clean, but don’t want to pay for it, but they EXPECT it.

We are doing around 850 in a community theatre coming up in a few weeks .

Am I going to charge for the EFFORT, and level of professionalism ?

Absolutely .

City building, and they EXPECT perfection.

At $3 per seat, I'd use the evo stair tool.
It doesn't have to be perfect- its dark in there. Someone just needs to mark it off their To-do list at the lowest price.
good luck.

BioBreak, DS2, and a splash of ammonia in a bucket, upholstery mitt, apply ahead of extraction. 60-80 seconds a seat total.

Can it be a money maker? Even @ 3 bucks a piece? Of course.

we were part of a theater restoration in 2012.
Can't recall the exact number, but think it was 2200 seats maybe? :eekk:

I bid $3.50 seat ....should of been double that.
The cup holders were full of years of pop spills and too many of the seats required scrubbing.

You have no employees and you’re NOT in your 30s anymore.

And your LMC cleaning tools have made you lazy also. So I know your stamina isn’t there

Maybe you should go $12/seat

lowere back blows by 11AM.
True.
@Nomad74 , You might want to wear some premium knee pads and try cleaning while on your knees and use a short-handle stair or 6 inch upholstery tool to give your back a rest. Are you prepared to work graveyard hours; as this is when the work will most likely be done?
