You are looking for a way to prescrub your pre spray into the carpet fibers here is a little video of what I use.
How to do it,
I went to wally world and picked this vacuum do to it seemed to have the longest bristles or brush ends
this vac also has a bigger cavity around the brush to hold more debris, then I clip the little plastic bridges off so the brush is totally open.
Disconnect the vac tube from beater bar so the vac is just a beater bar,if the vacuum is DRY you can use it as vacuum by just putting suck tube back in place, it is not a CRB but it is way better than grandi groomer. I prefer to use this compared to my roto vac DHX. In the video you can see the carpet change color. They last about 6 to 12 months the problem is the bearings for the beater bar start to make more noise as they wear out. Not designed to get wet. The vac was a cheap dirt devil @ 60.00 bucks. You will be shocked at how much it will pull out of carpet even if you pre vac. Also you will need to clean crap out around the beater bar at the end of the job, try it out you will understand what I mean but I can't tell you how long its been since I last used roto vac
