Unfortunately my body has started breaking down at 52. Actually well before this. Sitting still just makes it worse so I imagine I'll work till I drop. Like Barry maybe just slow down a bit

It's like the person that gets a cane. Then they move onto a walker. After the walker comes the wheel chair. After the wheel chair....... You get the picture..... Eat right, drink LOTS of water, exercise, take vitamins.....

I feel that the job keeps ME feeling very well and would rather work then go to the gym and feel tired. At 75 yrs young I know about some pain and being tire. Friday a extra job came in so I did it and at 5pm I finished so that was 4 jobs that day. Nothing really big but most were about 2 k each but the set up and break down is all part of it and no helper, that's my choice . I had a problem the other day I cleaned a rental with 30 yr old carpet.I cleaned it about 4 yrs past and did the same again, the new renter say their feet get dirty walking on the carpets. I guess I 'm not that good anymore. I didn't do the pre clean another company did so its my fault about the dirt in the carpets. Oh well can't win them all On to the next one. jz.

Huh? 2,000 sq/ft x4 is 8,000 sq/ft total cleaned. You don't call that a big day? Especially for a one man show? Especially for a 75 yr old?

I'm 64, and still cleaning. Not every day, and I'll bring help on the bigger jobs. Hey, I had fun over 38 years of cleaning, made great money, and never had more than 1 truck on the road. I started collecting social security at 62, because that's how my "30 and out" retirement was set up at GM. So.....between 62 and 66, I'm really limited to net income. I've been buying equipment for the deductions, and should have every thing paid and cleared by 66. Then my income will be unlimited. But I hope to have the son take over around that time. He will retire from GM also, probably at 25 years. GM wants to rid the payrolls of all the old rate employees.

Most of my cleaning is in commercial and rentals. Move in, do your job, no hassle from customers.

Clean on.

What ever you do try and delay the scooter. Worked for the government in a over 55 senior government housing complex. Very sad.

Then we were having the Olympics and they wanted to clean up the downtown east side in Vancouver. Shipped them all out to Surrey and the complex I worked at as a tenant support worker.

Nothing like ladies of the night living beside the elderly....:hopeless:

As much as I hate to admit it, my carcass is startring to go for a poop. I was smart enough to carry workers comp on myself and they're determining how much of a disability my messed up right arm is. I ruptured the 3rd distal tendon moving a bed and it's pretty uncomfortable at the best of times. They've been pretty good up until now and I'll wait to see where this goes. My back isn't the best, but the arm isn't good. The WC will pay me out with a percentage of my income backdated from the initial injury prorated to age 65. I can still work but if I hurt that arm again I'm on my own.

Yeah and I've had 2 surgeries on the same arm but the wrist. I'm still going to work no matter what, and it's not the money thing as we've done pretty good with the savings and had a recent sizable windfall. I could retire comfortably. I just like what I do and can't see sitting on my ass.
