I have to confess something.

When I first started pre scrubbing carpets about 20 years ago I used a floor scrubber rated at 175 rpm.

Yawn

After a couple of years i thought to myself "There must be a quicker way"

So I started using a floor polisher rated at 440 rpm with a buff pad.

I rip through rooms with no issues whatsoever.

I don't recommended this for a newbie but am I a bad man?

Now try it with an orbital that oscillates at 1725 rpm's.
Or with a Cimex that spins its planetary heads at 400 rpm's.
You'll get even better (and safer) results with either of those machines.

It weighs 50 kgs or so and easy for me to take upstairs and so forth.

Their only issue is that they have to nail the carpet to the ceiling in order to clean it.

You do it so well.

I prefer my 400rpm polivac over my variable 150-330 general on residential just because the polivac is so well balanced.. gotta keep it lubed though and only on the trashed ones
