It's been on sale several times in the last couple years for $400.
What ever rotary you do get, be sure you get a 1 1/2 HP motor.
the 1HP motor doesn't have enough guts with some pads/bonnets on some carpets
also, I know some of the guys here talk about post bonnet.
It's not necessary 90% of the time "IF" you know how to use a wand.
If you're going thru the extra steps of using a rotary, use it where it will make the most difference.
and that is, to scrub a soiled rag BEFORE you extract, not after

When u guys sue a 175 to prescrub do you use a brush a bonnet a pad? i dotn have a 175 yet so i am not familiar with the pad colors. i use a procaps machine to prescrub, do you think that is sufficient?

I believe the procaps or any CBM is your best bet for aggitatin and pre-scrubing. If you have them.
If not then the 175 using the fiber pad, brush, or bonnet in that order would be my recomendation.

We have a couple of the $400 PowrFlites, great buffer!
You can sometimes find good used buffers for sale cheap from the back rooms of grocery stores or department stores. Just ask.

i really dont post bonnet much because i usually dont prescrub neither. dry times are not as important to me since everyone expects 2 days any ways and mine are dry same day.
but if i was to prescrub id use a fiber plus pad and releasit it from excellent supply and post bonnet with cotton bonnets. if your going to prescrub might as well post bonnet since all you need is the bonnet.
ive thought about doing this on every job but i dont want to carry the 175 in.

Best tool for agitation?
That's a question I've been asking for a couple months now. General consensus seems to be a 175 with a shampoo brush. I'm ordering a brush next week but right now I use a green VCT pad that's been broken in on concrete. It agitates just fine but the problem I have (on commercial carpet) is that the heat from the friction can cause the carpet to dry before you extract it if you even a slightly large area. Then you have to spray it, agitate and extract again to get it clean.

I've used a Host machine , a Cert pile brush and a rotary to pre-scrub with in the "real world"
HANDS DOWN, a 70 to 90+ pound rotary blows them all away for shearing soil off the fiber.
The roll brush machines will dig out hair and such, but appearance wise, the roto scrub kicks their azz every time
as far as what pad/bonnet/brush to use?

On a decent cut pile, we'll use synthetic scrub bonnets saturated in pre-spray.
On a trashed loop pile olefin com, we'll use an aggressive VCT scrubbing pad.
My shampoo brush hasn't been used in years
Steve, why use an encRap juice to pre-scrub when you'll be rinse/extracting it back off?
It would be more effective and le$$ money to scrub your "regular" pre-spray
Dan, spray more pre-spray down when scrubbing or get there before it dries out.

pretty much because im to lazy to rinse the tank out between jobs since i shampoo( jimmys rubbin off) with my mex and rotary. i guess i could just use the dydro force. good question larry.
you should try ricks pads. they are made for carpet and really give the best i results i think. fiberplus pads for plushes fiberplus max for commercil or berber.
if you have real bad traffic lanes in cgd hit it with a good prespray and the pile lifter.i flipped out one customer and myself.
