Any of you use this Royal/Dirt Devil hand held on stairs?

I was socially networking at the local vacuum store today.
It sure was nice to use compared to using the Shark, I must say..

The owner, a 30 plus year vet in the suck mop industry was pretty passionate about this thing.
As he was Ricar Vacuums, especially THIS one

Spent over an hour in his shop talking Kirbys, Hoover Conquests, Windsors, Lindhaus, Sharks, his past life in Santa Cruz, the weather, dirt bikes etc..

I used to. Till I got tired of having a specialty tool for every single task I do.
Works well. Eventually the rubber band start slipping and stinking the place with the infamous Eureka's burned rubber smell.
Good for pet hair, unless, as I do, you atomize them.

Why do you need to pre-vacuum the stairs to begin with, ex Vortex man?

I've had about 5 of them. They are great when they are working but always seem to burn out.

I've had 1 Shark and the rest were Royals. The Royals kick butt when they are new.

use my Proteam upright on everything (ok not upholstery). Dang near every set of stairs I get to is loaded with crap. Very few home owners take the time to deep vacuum them. Gotta routine for myself, works well, fast.
