This happens about once a year for me. That little ink spot that I don't see until it blooms out when the wand hits it and then you have this:

I end up cutting it out and patching it.
Pisses me off every time.

I did that once. Masterbed room a felt tip pen drained down by a recliner. It was maybe half an ince big to start but bloomed in full glory to 5-6 inches. The client cried, real tears. Man I felt bad. We worked and worked on it but it only reduced a little in size and color. She understood what caused it and she's still a client 30 years later but I wasn't so sure back then.

It was bad, we disengaged the installation and not only was the backing blue but the pad and subfloor. :shifty:

Wow - I never had ink move that much before!
Had two scenarios one black ink, the other blue.
They started spreading as soon as I began working in Power gel & Pro Solve gel onto ink spot. looked a little like that scenario just smaller.
Few alternations of gels, agitation and extraction and spots were gone.

At least you solved your customer's problem and got a little extra on the ticket for carpet repair - that's still a win-win!
