the original ones had thin sharp ribs on the outside, NO latch were made in the US and were the best cuffs ever made. I finally retired mine after 8-9 years, they were just too old. several years ago I bought a brand new set of cool cuffs, I put them on and found my old non latch cuffs to be superior even though they had been used for 5 years or so. I took the brand new ones off and moved them to my back up unit. I now run flash cuffs, they have advantages and disadvantages over cool cuffs.
