The phone is dead except for Yelp, Home advisor and others trying to sell something.

I'm taking on empty rentals or home's.
I really don't want to touch anyone's personal stuff. So I'm avoiding that.
I'll do traffic area's in home's but I do tell customer to stay on the other side of house, they easily agree.

But for the most part it's slow.
This will last until late summer.
Unless you're hungry don't drop your price.

That's all today,
If it warms up sometime soon I'll descale my tm, or even pressure wash my deck, it does need a few board's replaced.

I did a flood job earlier in the week, it was the first job since 3/19. Calls are coming in but I'm scheduling most in May, not sure things will be any safer though.

It is high compared to free. I'v had two or three price shoppers, renters, who thought the same thing. They just want a receipt for the owner.

Exterior work mostly, did 1 vacant interior yesterday which we made an exception for because it had to be sold and real estate is considered essential here. 3 showers, kitchen floor, bathroom floors.

Exterior is going strong lots of power washing, windows, gutters, roofs.

Cleaned a Bull Mastiff’s dog bed today. Pretty disappointed in myself. Made an Ozone tent for it. Made an Ozone tent for it.

what's the ozone for?
odor?

I don't know squat about rugs
but that's a dog mat to me.
if you want to get Fido's Bee-Oh out, can't you take that rug down to the river and wash it on a rock?

seriously, you can't flood/squeegee/extract rinse repeat blow dry that rug without damage?
and had to clean it with upl tool?

I’m starting to pick up. It’s been slow for 4 weeks. I worked today. I have work Monday and Tuesday next week so far. Getting more calls by the day. I raised my prices slightly 4/1. Families have an extra $2400 or more in their acct now and I’m thinking that’s helping me. I’m not scared of the flu.

Bottom line is that cleaning rugs is the bastard chore of this industry. You rarely get the result you want. I gave that pitiful pile of wool the best one hour I could. The ozone is my justification for trying. It’s still going to be a dog bed when I take it back. People and their rugs. SMH.

Layed everyone off... So of course the phones are ringing enough to keep ME busy on a van.

Pretty huge job tomorrow by myself. Been jobs now everyday this week.

Our youngest guy is making more money on unemployment because of the government giving them an extra $600 per WEEK on top of their unemployment.

No one wants to work.

I am working to keep the business alive so when the government cuts everyone off, they will have something to come back too!

I had one call today. Lady had a LR and a BR in a ground floor apartment. Normally $120. She wanted it today. I normally say I can’t, even if I can, cuz same day callers are always a pita. This lady said cash, so I gave her a special price of $80 and said I could be over in an hour ... because I was desperate.

She said I was too high.

That happens every time they want a deal. I just don't lower my prices anymore.

It was probably just as well she didn't use you (and by saying "use", I mean "use" in the ugliest of possible interpretations).

People that pay what they think is too much for a job, but use (see above) you anyway, will extract every penny extra they think that they overpaid out of you, and will still likely complain in the end.

People are insane

got a call yesterday that went to voicemail while we were working, she wanted to make an appt

she calls back a half hour later and left a voicemail that she wanted to ‘Cancel ‘ her order cuz she got someone else

great, now I don’t have to bother with the spiteful psycho

nope

she called a THIRD time, apparently she needs to school me on how I lost the job to a competitor

I answered this time

“ I’m glad you were able to get someone, we are too busy to get to you for a couple weeks anyways”

Didn’t go the way the entitled jerk wanted it to

I really love being able to choose who gets to be my customer

This is a hard lesson for people in business to learn, "I really love being able to choose who gets to be my customer." We all want as much business as possible, but once that lesson is learned, it sets you on the path of attracting the customers you want to work with (most of the time) and willing to pay for your service, while eliminating the chafe. It is also really satisfying watching peoples faces/hearing their voice when you are telling them, you don't want to work with them.
