Are There Any Women Carpet Cleaners Out There???

Just wondering. My wife is 5'1' and helps me clean. How many or what percentage of carpet cleaners are women?

Have 3 girls in the house that can clean carpets (as well as my wife) and do flood and fire restoration. Girls are 15, 20 and 22. We use modifed Butlers with 2.5 inch hoses, greenhorn wands, RX-20's (which they don't handle very well yet).

Youngest daughter has been working with me since the age of 10 and the other 2 part time. Middle daughter has been full time with us the past month after getting laid off from her job. She had another job offer this week but decided to stay on with the company. We have been really swamped and she is really enjoying it right now.

It's great when we get flood calls, because all the girls (and my wife) know what to do for water extraction and basic WDR equipment set up. The girls are tiny little things but tough as nails. They kick their boy friends hind ends when it comes to work also. The youngest is probably the best carpet cleaner and spot specialist. My wife is no slouch either.

Family business and it keeps growing.

My wife is very good at cleaning carpets. She knows all the chemicals and spot removers. We like working together, and try not to get on each others nerves. She has a better eye for spots than me now. She will point out the smallest little spot. I used to do that.

I think people, especially women customers like the fact that a women is present. Men either flirt or can't believe a women is doing this kind of work. And most of the time she hits it off with the women customers.

That's amazing! You have a great family. That is rare especially girls doing that kind of work.

I owned and operated my own carpet cleaning business for 18 years. I loved the work. I cleaned through two pregnancys and too many marriages...lol. Now I am in the supply end of the business. It's a great job and industry for a woman to work in. Your residential customers will like having her on the job, it makes them feel more secure.

I am grooming my 13 year old daughter to run a truck. She is taller than me and when she is on the job pulling hoses or running the wand the custys melt!

I have pics of all the family running 14 inch Greenhorn wands and 2.5 inch hose but they are not too good. I took them with my cell phone. Will have to get some better pics and post if I can.

We are heading out the door right now for a full day of carpet & upholstery cleaning and also a flood damage. Gonna get the first cc job done and then get the girls and a couple guys pulling water and tearing out carpet and pad in one section that needs tear out. Our business has been booming. Great to be able to support the family and our community loves the family business.

Andrechelle still cleans carpet, although not everyday anymore. She's about 5'2" and 85ish lbs.
