One month more than any other is often slow around here.

That is JAN..

So to spark the fire I sent out 200 sealed envelopes containing a flyer to past clients.
We will see how the trend goes. If I get good results I will do another 200, then another till the calender is back to a steady 3 jobs per day again.

( test )

Took sometime in front of the TV watching a DVD to prepare all the mail.

Total cost.
Less than $125.00

Over the years I have found sealed envelopes perform better than post cards.
Cost almost twice as much, and take twice as long to prepare.

They went out yesterday, in homes today.

And already booked 4 jobs from it. And it is only noon..
Smallest of the 4 will cover the $125.00 cost.

I put an expiration of 2/15/2011.

Something to think about if things are slow for you.

Was there a special offer, or just a general"its time to clean again" letter. I am working on something similar, thanks!

Do a follow up call a week from now to anyone that does not call. A lot of people will think about pulling the trigger, but your phone call will make them commit.

Good idea. Jan is usually slow here too, and its staying true right now. Made a few calls, booked some jobs. If you can do 3 jobs a day in Jan, you are doing good. I can do 3 jobs per day in the summer, but I'm in a much smaller market too.

I don't do telemarketing to my clients.

Tried it years ago, hired my friends sister.

Results were mixed, but just did not like intrusion it suggested.

Also did cold telemarketing. Again, worked but it was not an image I wanted to build for my company.

Only clients I will call are one that ask for a reminder.

As for follow up.. I'm going to start doing monthly or bimonthly postcards to all clients. I have one being printed now at GotPrint.com

Yes, $10.00 off orders under $100.00 or 10% off orders over $100.00

Small amount to give up to keep the phones ringing till hints of spring.

As for the monthly postcards.. Each month will have some sort of special with an expiation, but not 10% off.

Last Jan I did 30 jobs.. No additional marketing. That was over 15 work days.
This year has proven to be a little slower so far, but the weather to colder and snow always seems to be in the forcast.

March-Nov no concerns.

On my way to my goal of increasing personal income by $20k this year.

Ended the day with booking 6 jobs from the 200 fliers that got put into mailboxes today.
3% so far is not to bad..

Otherwise, not a single call otherwise.

But snow is foretasted for tonight.. And people around here freak with the chance of flakes..

Guess I'll send another 200 by the end of the week.

Tons cheaper than servicemagic.com with much better results.
