The Basic coating wood floor maintenance system has been out for awhile now.
Do your customers like the program?
Are you getting repeat customers?
Is it a service that you continue to offer?

I'm old school with wood refinishing and recoating. The Basic system is much easier to work with and less expensive for your customer.

The Basic maintenance system is much less durable.

If it's working for you and your making money I'm wondering if I should have it in my store.

Any info would be appreciated.

Two of the greatest days in a carpet cleaner's life are the day he buys his first Dirt Dragon...

If you don't already have an extractor of some sort, than maybe..

But any portable or truck mount will do the job quicker and better. Just need a 175, CRB and a hard floor wand.

Love the easy to use top coat but the dilution rates in the cleaner and rinse are so insulting that as a retailer, I would live in fear of getting my throat punched if I were peddling that crap.

That's one thing I said right away when they were on pcn.

4:1 ratio, especially for those of us in can and far away shipping..

You're very right Mikey, it's down right insulting and makes me think how old is their tech....What company doesn't have ultra concentrated products out now!

I think you should be selling the units and having the training classes. The market is huge and its something all cleaners should consider. As far as the products they should better dilution rate cleaners but it doesn't mean you couldn't still use the system.

For the looks its hard to beat the Dragon as far as what it can do...well did I mention it's hard to beat the looks? :winky:

Its a good machine, we've probably already made our money back on it and not even cleaned a wood floor yet. A lot of planked vinyl. :errf:

We need to get serious about wood and put together some promotional pieces this Spring/Summer.

Have thought about it probably 10x and then picture what a PIA it must be laying finish in a home.
Then having to wait for first coat to dry....

Maybe someday, like the idea but it sounds like a pain.

I've been doing screen and recoat longer than carpet. In 2012 I tried the Basic Coatings product.
Couple of issues:
It is grossly over priced. Both the product and the hardware.
I own a CRB autoscrubber for doing commercial work, so I gave it a spin. Never again.
I clean a lot of commercial hard floors including wood. This is my primary product.
If the wood is nasty, I use this.

Both less than 1/2 the price of a comparable Betco product under the name Basic Coatings.
Look familiar? A lot less at your janitorial supply house!

The finish is basically mop 'n glo if you haven't figured that one out yet...
Bona has the same product too.

My customers tend to be too intelligent to accept this. For example, I did the dining room and living room of the "new" house owned by my insurance broker the summer of 2012. In the middle of the job, he asked me if I was going to charge him $1 per sq ft for putting mop n glo on his floor. He was not happy. He felt "took" even before I finished. I went and got my buffer and did a real screen and recoat, 1 layer sealer, two layers finish. I charge $1.50 per sf for that. You can measure the lifespan in years, not weeks. The first person I took on this job for $1 per sf, I walked out of that house with a nice check, but felt like a piece of shit. I thought it would be better the 2nd time. No freaking way. That was the end of that crap. If I was hustling people for $1-2 per sf for doing that, I wouldn't have any respect for myself. I just can't go there.

If you can sell it, good for you.
