Bearing Grease coming out of the blower?

I have some bearing grease coming out of my vacuum pump. I noticed a hesitation in my vac and decided to look around to see what it could be, I noticed about a half cup of grease coming out of the pulley side of the vac blower/ very low hrs is this normal?

Found the problem I checked my manual and it says WD40 the vac after each day and I hadn't done that

I don't think it is normal. I never had that happen on any of mine. Hopefully someone that knows more about blowers will be along soon to advise.

sounds like she has been over greased and blew the shaft seal.........

or for some reason built up heat and blew the seal

It could of had a air pocket in the grease this would cause a bearing shutter when it pushes threw..........

wipe it off real good and give it a tiny shot of grease and fire it back up and let it run for a few

and then recheck it.........

when you wipe it off look real good to see if the seal has inverted or is damaged in any way...........

I have seem a lot of grease seals return them self to normal after blowing out the pressure......(and some don't)

If it is a oil seal then it is different when they go it is a automatic replace

It is normal if it is coming out of the weep holes directly opposite the zirk fittings

If it is coming out of the shaft area then you need a new seal.

it is coming out the weep holes, what about the vac hesitation? It is like 10 seconds

I didn't know you could over grease a blower. I always thought the weep holes would allow any excess grease to exit.

Hmmmm, haven't had that problem yet.

it was a little over greased and weeped out, I just got scared from the hesitation of the vac, but problem solved.

Greg, about your Blower hesitation question. The first thing I would check is the belts. they might be just a little loose and take a couple seconds to grab completely.

Greg;

The grease flows straight thru the bearing cavity on your blower.

The WD40 is to prevent the internal lobes from rusting.

Concerning the hesitation, I would check the relief valve. That is a common source of vac loss.

Goto free flow, problem solved . No moving parts. oH and it costs 10 bucks.

Also flush your blower. This may be a sign of dirt build up on the lobes.

I'm betting some grease fell on to your pulley's or belts and what you heard was the belts slipping for 10 seconds.



Happens frequently with my truck.

We both need to put a tray under the weep holes to catch the old grease.

weep holes should be threaded put hoses on them and run it down to the frame
so it is well away from your belts and machine

mine sits there and melts away it don't drip in clients drive way or does not cause no mess

the heat from the blower is pretty much melting it away

This was one of the first things that was done to the truck when I first got it....there was grease going on the belts so theses were put on.......

since I have had this truck I have never dripped anything on a single drive way ( well I did water for the POS fresh tank)

I grease my truck and machine every 50 hours and have never had a single problem ......

I do have an aerotech, that is what I am haveing a problem with
