Yea, the lids crack on the HF pool filter. You can replace the plastic hinge screw with a nut and bolt to make it last longer, but it is what it is.... I do wonder how hard it would get to screw down the lint hog after continuious empties.... No doubt you'd need to keep the threads clear of sand and crap that comes off while taking out the filter....

I have a lint hog, and everything Les said in the video is true. VERY heavy duty, a lot easier than using a filter sock in the recovery tank, and a knee-hi fits really nice in the stainless mesh filter.

As for keeping the threads clean, I would think a quick rinse off with water would take care of it.

..L.T.A.

Thanks, Les. That was a great video. We have a 2 1/2" X 2 1/2" available now and also we are making a 2 1/2" from the TM to 2" on the wand side. I don't remember the part #'s but your dist. can order them for you. We are shipping now.

Thanks again, Les.

I'm just wondering if John is going to charge Les a 15% restocking fee when he returns that Lint Hog...

Awesome on the 2.5" from tm and 2" to tool. Just what I have been looking for.

I am going to get a dual 2.5 inch port for my tank and run two short sections of 2.5 inch from the tank. I like using dual filters.

How much is the filter?

Its actually not a "Hydroforce" product. Up here they were charging $240 for that "special" filter and another $100 for the SS filter. I found them at the local pool supplier, its just a leave filter they use for filtering stuff out of pools. Significantly less price.

I see no "Real" improvement over the HF, just a cosmetic rehash.
It does the same thing as the HF one. The improvement is that it's a hell of a lot more durable. I would rather get ONE Mytee Lint Hog that will last a hell of a long time, for less $$$. That is in comparison to the "HF" filter that tends to break, and at some distributors, costs MORE than a Mytee.
The only parts that might need replaced over time that I see would be the neoprene seal, hose barbs, and the stainless filter basket. If taken care of, I can't see where anyone would have any issues with the Lint Hog in the foreseeable future.

I 've had the old HF for at least 10 years now and the only thing that has broken is the latch .
I've gone thru a number of the SS filters though and that is because I whack them to loosen up the crap.

So unless the mytee is alot cheaper then there is no real improvement or advantage.

Isn't the hose barb less restrictive on the lint hog??? I know for a fact the HF isn't close to a 2" ID.........

If it's anything like the Tempo, the midget grout wand, the waste tank or the booster I'd rather run without a filter.

I've destroyed 3 Pool filters. Hinges leak, latches break and tops crack.

Any chimp with half a brain can and should see the difference.

1st a Castex wand and now this show of bad judgment.

The biggest difference between the two is in cold climates. You will be lucky to get a year or two without repairs.

Mytee's waste tank is brilliant. Only a Recoil owner would say something bad about it without ever using one.
