BED BUGS - YUK !!!

Does anyone treat properties for bed bugs??

We offer a mattress sanitizing service for the household dust mite, --- ( no relation to you know who ), but currently not bed bugs.

I realise that if you use chemicals to eradicate these pests, one needs to hold a pest control licence.

I know that many are using steam also to accomplish this problem which does not require said license.

Does anyone offer this service using steam??

If so, how effective is it & what is the steam machine (ie; output/pressure), that you use??

I've cleaned up after the heat treatment but never before. My last helper had them and it gave me the creeps. I put his shirt on the machine at the end of the day and heated it. I ran the heater In the cab and let the truck run in the sun for the cab just in case. Supposedly they can survive it. I'm itching just thinking about it.

Shorty, be careful. I use superheated steam to clean mattresses and am confident that the surface and to some depth, the padding is heated well enough to kill mites, eggs and bacteria. However, I don't promise that the interior of the mattress will be pest free.
If you heat the material to (140F) it will kill bedbugs. Superheated steam from my equipment hits (350-380F). If I had a bedbug job, I would turn it down, because they are in the whole house, able to migrate away from pesticides and heat. They'll go through the smallest opening, or under the carpet, anywhere, then rebound later. Leave it to the pest control lads!
