I would be concerned on the installation method. Was it a double stick , t&p . Also what is in it construction jute or poly propylene wefts. This will determine how wet you can get it without shrinking on you.

Also be concerned with what type of Axeminster it is. Gripper Axeminster doesn't stretch much in the width if at all because of the thick cable wefting. And if it strinks or pulls away, its often in this direction. With any wool product, keep the heat down a little if you can unless its ultras soiled then you are doing a mercy cleaning and you may need heat so you don't have to nuke it chemically. Chemically use wool safe products if you can. Master blend makes several. One of my favorite os theirs for heavy soil wool wall to wall is their RAGE. made specifically for casino axeminster in las vegas that takes a lot of oil . Typically i try to get hotels to do a flush out first and then upkeep with a quality encap program.

I did a demo on this a while back and a cimex did the best job. Certified "wool safe" products only. Stain Magic for wool did well, and crayons hid alot of problems.

It also depends on how fast they want to start walking on it. If the place is empty for you to clean and dry at least a day then hwe is a good method. DFC 105 wool safe, and if the carpet looks bad to begin with then add pro's choice natural fiber rinse to your rinse. less psi and hole glide recommended. If it's all hallways then bring fans, wool absorbs a lot.

If the place is busy and as soon as you leave they are booking rooms/traffic begins, then encap would be good Crystal Dry Extra by Whittaker is woolsafe approved. I would watch out using a rotary, they will leave the swirls and they might be hard to get out.

We HWE at about 450 psi. Prespray at lower pressure as you don't want to risk getting the backing wet if it is a jute.
Crank up your heat and unless it is very heavy soiling you should be able to do it one pass wanding.(solution on the backstroke only)
It will clean up beautifully and dry quickly.

I did some testing/demo on the axminster. I will be HWE it first and keeping up with an encap program.
