Last week was one of those weeks that couldn't go fast enough! When things get older (and I'm not talking about my own 60 year old self), they wear out. My Chevy Express is 9 years old, 107,000 miles. Few weeks ago, started hearing a sqeeking, squealing....sort of like a drive shaft u-joint starting to go bad. Never got worse, till last week when I started getting a bang, a jerk.....felt like something was binding up. I though rear end or drive shaft, or the parking brake inside the disc brake. Sharp turns would really bring it out, really dragging down the van. I was worried. Pulled the rear brakes and everything checked out well. Dumb-founded. Decided to pull the right front wheel, and wa-la!......I could grab the front wheel and rock it about 3 inches! It was the wheel bearing/spindle assembly. $150 and a few hours of labor fixed that problem.

This van's been good to me. I'll contiue to care for her.

Wow! That's crazy but explains why when turning it sounded worse. The weight our vans carry really takes a toll on the tires, suspension, etc..

To date, I have replaced disc pads and 1 rear rotor and caliper bracket, 1 left frt ball joint, 1 radiator, and this right frt bearing and spindle assembly. Not bad for a stop and go schedule every day. When new, I had the Genesis installed in the side door, and that threw the whole front end alignment out because of the weight shift. I drove it to baltimore for a Summerfest, and wore out the inside of the factory tires on that trip. Had to have major shim adjustments to bring it back to specs. (and new tires)
