Letip for a while. Seemed like a good idea at the time. Met some nice people, some I still work with. But all in all, I hated it. I lasted about three months.

We are in BNI. It is a large committment. Weekly, early in the a.m. Make sure you are in a good, progressive group or you will get discouraged quickly.

Letip for 6 years now.

Most work was from Mortgage Broker and Real Etate. But you know what happened to that.
Lately it is coming from the Roofer although we just did $1000.00 for the business consultant.
I did $40,000.00 last year with a $1000.00 yearly investment...not bad.
I may not do as good this year but still well worth it.
I usually don't figure in referrals from referrals from refferals etc. so I am probably doing just as well or better.

In order for these groups to work you have to give better than you get.
I am second top tipper for the year...the cleaning lady and her family loves Mary Kay so she out tips me every week.
But hey, it goes to Jenifer so what do I care?

I finally tried a BNI a few weeks ago. I would have gladly had another colonoscopy without the date rape cocktail instead!

I've been in Letip for 8 years, I am currently the president.

The group is good for 20 to 30k or work a year.

and it's a blast with me at the helm.

I've been in BNI for two years here. It's a fun group with 41 members and brings in a bunch of work. Each chapter varies quite a bit. If there are several in your area, check them all out. More than likely, you'll find one that's a fit for you.

LOL. Sometimes going can be a pain in the ass...pun intended... but the benefits outway that.

Most carpet cleaners I know would rather give up a body part than speak in front of 30 or more people.

The guys who post most on this board are attention whores anyway so they probably have no problem with it.

I would rather speak to a group every day than clean carpets etc.
That's why I love what I do.

The guys who DON'T want to speak in a group or have anything to do with networking are the guys I look for to clean for me.

They are usually good one on one but don't want any of the fu fu crap that I relish.

BNI and Apartment Association

Weekly - Monthly

Weekly-2hrs
BNI is a LARGE commitment but Protected. We meet weekly, Big Pat my Back I'll Pat yours type thing.
Personally I joined it for the structure and ability to watch some other business owners in action, more than
the making money out of it.
Strong Group as they have me 100% involved now. First few visits I was as tight as a Hard Boiled Egg!
Now I am A Lot more comfortable Talking Business Talk with everyone.
You have to Work BNI, no show up n go and expect to reap treasures.

Monthly- 2hrs Usually a Restaurant at Lunch or Dinner
Apt Association is Not protected and there are about 5 cleaners involved.
You gotta Have Style to wow these property managers!

We were Forced into this Group by it's Founder : ) Last 4yrs My Wifey was President of it.

I've done it, years ago. I'm way too inconsistent to be a steady participant.

I do my best to make connections WHILE I'm making $.

I'm starting a new group next week since my wife will be taking a break from hers to be a mom. My top five clients all came one way or another from bni. My only advice that goes against the grain is that groups have a set life. After that you're returns will diminish which is why this will be our fourth group
