A local buddy of mine has a 421 as his 2nd unit. Hasnt been started in several months and now the blower is seized up.

Tried lubing the blower at the inlets, letting sit, then trying to carefully turn the free it up at blower shaft using a pipe wrench, but no luck. This baby is STUCK.

Any suggestions?????

FILL the BLOWER-UP.....with the hottest water available....The ADD some HEAVY DUTY
degreaser..."Simple Green"....let it SOAK...Then BUMP the key over.....It should break loose..

If NOT...Continue to try the "pipe wrench"....in a foward & reverse motion..
IT WILL BREAK LOOSE...."eventually"

Hang -on .....Bawb will be here SOON...."He LovEs StucK BloWerS"...

Great idea, sounds like it would work.

Any issues he needs to be concerned with as far as draining all that water and degreaser, once he has to fill it back up with oil?

It will all blow out the exhaust. Don't wear your nice khakis.

Also...easy on the "pipe wrenching", you'll bugger the shaft.

Better: unscrew the blower inlet, take a piece of 2x2 about 18" long and a big hammer to it.

SMACK the crap out of it right on the lobe until it frees up. THIS is where the "freeze" is, not on the shaft or bearings.

I've done a bunch of them, even for local competitors. They think I'm god...lol

You are filling up the inside of the blower..from the TOP...where the Hose attaches from
the waste tank....DO NOT add the solution into your OIL FILL IS LOCATED.!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After the blower breaks FREE....IT will Clear the solution through the exhaust.....

Once it clears the solution....Then add some clear water to RINSE the degreaser from the blower...then run for 10 minutes...until the blower is dry...the spray some WD-40 into the
blower for 20 seconds...This will Lube the lobes & prevent future SEIZING...

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.the lobes seize up on the END PLATES....SOAP!!!
rather than booger the shaft...simply LOOSEN the end plate bolts on each end....it will then loosen up...DON RUN IT THAT WAY tighten end plate bolts then flush wit cool CLEAR water
