Buffing Tile

Building I clean has bunch of t&g. I noticed tonight how dirty the grout is getting. Its been down for 5 yrs now and they are only buffing it.

Is this right?, buffing tile.

I would assume so, its always has that shiney look to it. Its just plain ceramic tile.

If they have floor finish on it, the it is completely normal to buff it. I have done lots of floors like this (usually sub work for janitorial companies.)

Does it have to be to stripped before cleaning and then recoated I assume?

Yep. Gotta get the finish off to get to the t&g.
