I have not spent much time using butler’s dual wand system. We are now in a position where it makes sense to have another third and/or fourth person drive to sites and use two wands. My question is what drawbacks are there using the dual wands? Does it effect vac or psi or heat? Any tricks to make it more effective?

Personal experience has been that dual wanding with a Butler is not optimal. Tools would have to never leave carpet and water pressure is too inconsistent from my experience

We frequently will run one upholstery tool and one wand off a Butler up to 150' max in Mach 2

Key is to keep the tools locked down when not in use

Water pressure does fluctuate but not significantly IMO

Tried it a few times over the last several decades. All I can say is its better than a portable. :errf:

Need to dual wand? Get a Prochem Everest. Its a beast! We love it!

I think what I would do John is run 2.5 to a 2 inch Y and a solution Y. That would be low cost experiment. I hated hooking up to the tank. If you feel you need to use the tank run a 2.5 whip down to the ground and connect there.

I remember it having a harder time picking up the vacuum advance but once it did it ran fine.

If the wands are kept in contact with the carpet except for normal transitions, then it will work but - to work in a normal way, it takes a bigger blower, which is an option on the 870 ... I think Damon, and of course the Aero Tech.

It has been said...but I wouldn't

Love my Butlers, but really better and faster doing single wand off them with high flow wand situation.

Tonight...we are still down to the one van...second Butler replacing one we sold almost done at the wrap....but we are cleaning a bad restaurant situation and there is really no advantage to try and dual wand and make better time than with a single wand or zipper running off of the one Butler for us tonight.
